Audience: Parents/Families/Caregivers along with their Middle and/or High School Students with Disabilities, Transition Specialists, Special Education Teachers, Vocational/Career/VR Professionals, and School Administrators

The CT Department of Developmental Services (DDS), the CT Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS),the Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center (CPAC), the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE),the State Education Resource Center (SERC), and the University of Connecticut Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) are hosting the 3rd Annual Symposium focused on helping school districts improve their secondary transition practices. For the first time, the Symposium will include sessions just for students making college and career choices, as well as for families and professionals.
There will be a wide range of topics included over the two-day Symposium (e.g., strategies for preparing for college, employment options, secondary transition legal issues, IEP clinics for parents & students, transition- only services, and many more). In addition to student/family and adult agency panels, there will be a special session by Spectrum Unplugged.
Students with disabilities and their family may attend at NO COST!
